His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory of Nyssa

His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory of Nyssa, is the spiritual leader of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese, which maintains offices at 312 Garfield Street, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, 15906.

His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory was consecrated as Bishop and enthroned as the Ruling Hierarch of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the USA on November 27, 2012.

His Eminence celebrates his Name's Day (St. Gregory Palamas) on November 14/27.

Under His Eminence's care is our Diocesan Christ the Saviour Seminary, also in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, which trains future priests and deacons of our Diocese. In addition, the Diocese maintains Camp Nazareth Youth and Retreat Center in Mercer, Pennsylvania.

Metropolitan Gregory also serves as Secretary, Episcopal Liaison to the Orthodox Christian Fellowship, and Chairman of Committee for Agencies and Endorsed Organizations of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.

Father Thomas Slosky attended Christ the Saviour Seminary in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, from Fall 2022 to Spring 2023. Upon completing his required courses, he was awarded a Licentiate of Theology in May 2023. Father Thomas was ordained to the Diaconate on July 2nd, 2023, and the Priesthood on August 26th, 2023, by the hand of His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Nyssa. He now serves at St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Morgantown, WV.

Father Thomas holds a Master of Science in Counseling Degree (2020) from Duquesne University and a Master of Divinity from Loyola University of Chicago (2022). Father Thomas is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and Pennsylvania Army National Guard chaplain. He is married to Rachel Van Campenhout (2015) and has two sons, Cyril (2019) and Ezra (2024).
